Vodafone to Launch 4G VoLTE Services in January

Vodafone India on Tuesday confirmed the roll-out of its Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services starting January 2018. The Vodafone VoLTE service will be available in Mumbai, Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka, and Kolkata initially and it will be extended across the country in a short time, the company said in a statement..

"Vodafone is getting future ready with the advent of newer technologies and digital services. The introduction of VoLTE will enhance customer experience with HD quality calling and offer our customers newer possibilities. Vodafone VoLTE is an important step towards introducing futuristic technology enhancing our data strong network," said Sunil Sood, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone India.

Reliance Jio, with its entry into the telecom sector in India was the first telco to offer VoLTE services in India during September 2016. Next Airtel launched the 4G VoLTE services in September 2017 in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Chennai.

Earlier this week, state-owned telecom operator BSNL announced it would start 4G services in the country in January, with Kerala its first destination and then next in Odisha.
