New Highlights section to be rolled out for Google Inbox users

Google has updated its Inbox support page to include information about Highlights. According to Google, the inclusion of emails in the Highlights section depends on:
– Whom you email, and how often you email them
– Which emails you open
– Which emails you reply to
– Keywords that are in emails you usually read

This is how the mails are arranged into priority inbox, This is applicable to Computer, Android device and iOS devices.

Computer:

Hide Highlights section

  1. Open Inbox.
  2. On the left, click Settings and then Highlights.
  3. Switch “Highlights” off.

Remove a single email from Highlights

  1. Open Inbox.
  2. Point to the email you want to remove.
  3. On the right, click More More and then Don’t show in Highlights.

Android Devices:

Hide Highlights section

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Inbox app Inbox.
  2. On the left, tap Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Choose your account.
  4. Switch “Show high priority emails first” off.

Remove a single email from Highlights

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Inbox app Inbox.
  2. Tap the sender’s profile image next to the email you want to remove.
  3. In the top right, tap More More and then Don’t show in Highlights.

iOS devices:

Hide Highlights section

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Inbox app Inbox.
  2. On the left, tap Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Choose your account.
  4. Switch “Show high priority emails first” off.

Remove a single email from Highlights

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Inbox app Inbox.
  2. Tap the sender’s profile image next to the email you want to remove.
  3. In the top right, tap More More and then Don’t show in Highlights.
