First smartphone with on-screen fingerprint scanner and packs 3 cameras at the back

At this year’s MWC Shanghai, Chinese manufacturer Vivo displayed smartphone prototypes that has Qualcomm’s next-generation ultrasonic fingerprint scanners. Qualcomm clearly stated that it will start sending the tech to phone makers for commercial sampling in Q4 2017, it seems that Vivo have gotten a bit of a head start.
Upcoming Vivo Xplay 7 (also known as X20) emerged today confirms that the handset will be the first to have an on-screen fingerprint reader.Slides from a presentation about the phone leaked out initially with the “all-screen” front of the handset is quite similar to the Galaxy Note 8 renders released so far.
The back of the Xplay 7 reveals an interesting camera composition at and the source that uploaded these images on Weibo claims that this is a triple-camera setup. A trio of HD renders that broke cover a few hours later seems to confirm this, but we’re a bit baffled by the lack of a LED flash here. The three sensors at the back will probably bring some fancy AR features.
At the moment, there’s no information regarding the hardware specifications of this device, but it will most likely be in the high-end. Launch and release dates are also uncertain at this point and we will update once we get it.
