Asus unveils mixed reality headset and super thin laptops at IFA

Taiwan's Asus has released all-new products in OFA 2017:  ZenBook Flip S, ZenBook Flip 15,  Mixed Reality headset, The ROG Chimera gaming laptop

The ZenBook Flip 14 - world's thinnest and one of the lightest two-in-one laptops which has a 360°-flippable touchscreen and ASUS Pen support. The ZenBook Flip 14 features 14-inch NanoEdge display with an ultrathin bezel, 80% screen body ration, full HD touch screen, 13.9mm thick (0.55 inches) and weighing just 1.4 kg (3.1 lbs) and all metal uni-body.


ZenBook Flip 14 sports 8th Generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics and 16GB of RAM, ultrafast 512GB PCIe x4 SSD and it comes with the USB-C port, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a HDMI port and a micro SD Card slot. It comes with Windows 10 Pro and Windows Hello technology, the fingerprint sensor built into the touchpad.

The ZenBook Flip 15 (UX561) - It has  a 360°-rotatable 15.6” display with ultra-narrow bezel with 79% screen body ratio, with a choice of full HD or 4K UHD resolutions.

It is featuring the 8th gen Intel Core i7 processor, up to 2TB HDD+512G SATA SSD, latest NVIDIA MX150 discrete graphics USB-C ports and a powerful Harman Kardon audio system.  It has extraordinary state-of-the-art NanoEdge Full HD touchscreen with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.



ZenBook Flip 15 features the revolutionary USB 3.1 Type-C, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a HDMI port. It supports latest 802.11ac Wi-Fi, with ultra-fast speeds of up to 867Mbps and recommended to run in Window 10 Pro.

The Windows Mixed Reality headset – It is a lightweight at about 14.1 ounces (400 g) and balanced to take pressure off the nose and cheeksVR headset, uses inside-out tracking with two built-in front-facing tracking cameras with six-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) position tracking. It is prices at €449, which converts to $535, £415 and AU$675. 

It features a 2.89-inch diagonal display size x2, 1440x1440 (per eye),2880x1440 (combined) with HDMI 2.0(display) and USB 3.0(data) connectivity and Gyro scope, Accelerometer, Magnetometer, P-sensor.

The ROG Chimera laptop and ROG Strix XG35VQ 35-inch curved Display - Asus claims the Chimera is the world's first gaming laptop with an ultra-responsive 144Hz wide-view display and a 7ms gray-to-gray response time, "delivering smooth and seamless visuals never seen before on a laptop." And naturally it has the components inside to make having such a screen worthwhile such as an unlocked Intel Core i7-7820HK processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics.


The laptop also supports Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Wireless, so you can hook up Xbox accessories to the PC without adapters or the need to switch controllers when moving from console to PC or vice versa.

Asus also announced the new ROG Strix XG35VQ, a curved 35-inch UWQHD (3,440×1,440 pixel) curved monitor with a 100Hz refresh rate, Adaptive-Sync technology and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The display also has Aura Sync lighting that can be synced with in-game audio as well as with Aura Sync-enabled PC components, keyboards and mice.
