HTC is planning to update HTC U11 to Bluetooth 5.0 from Bluetooth 4.2. According to FCC (Federal Communications Commission) filing, HTC plans to “enable Bluetooth 5.0 by software without any hardware change.”
HTC U11 will be the third Smartphone to feature Bluetooth 5.0 next to Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, which were launched with Bluetooth 5.0 back in April.
With Bluetooth 5.0, HTC U11 will have longer connectivity range, as well as higher transmission bandwidth with low power usage. The upgrade will be available via software update, which should be marked by HTC in the changelog.
Still we are not sure when the update will be available for the user.
