Pixel 2 starts to receive a New update

Google Pixel 2 smartphones are already on the latest January security patch. Today Pixel 2 owners started to receive a new update which weighs around 41.8MB through an OTA. But this update has yet to be listed on Google’s Factory Images page and we are not clear what the update is for. Those who side loaded the January Security update are facing some issue and those who update via OTA does not meet any issues.

One of the users reported that a bug involving Google Assistant and local music playback has been resolved. But it is not clear whether the issue is fixed through this update. Changelog of the update shows that update brings the critical bug fix and performance improvements to the Pixel 2 devices. Build number changes to OPM2.171019.016 from OPM1.171019.013.
