According to a teaser image posted on Xiaomi’s official Redmi Weibo account, the Xiaomi will announce Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones on December 7th at an event in China.
The phone will be introduced by members of the pop band SNH48. Twelve of them are pictured holding the Redmi 5. As per the image the phone comes with 18:9 ration display and single camera and fingerprint sensor placed at the back of the phone. Redmi 5 may come with Snapdragon 625, 12MP rear camera, 8MP selfie camera , 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 3300mAh battery. On the Specification part of Redmi 5 plus it should come with better specification than Redmi 5.
The headline of the poster says “A phone for a thousand”, implying the Redmi 5 will cost as low as CNY1,000 or about $150/€130.
