The Xiaomi Mi 5X is started receiving the MIUI 9 update in China. The Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi Max 2 have already received the MIUI 9 update.
The Xiaomi Mi 5x devices will start to receive the MIUI update through OTA but there is no information about hte MIUI update to Mi 5X units outside of China.
The MIUI 9 update added a number of features: album new search function, the new "MIUI Lab", split screen mode, desktop information assistant and so on.
