OnePlus has officially confirmed that Android O will be the last major Android OS update for the OnePlus 3 and 3T via a Q&A posted on its forums. The OnePlus company did say that the OnePlus 3 and 3T will continue to get security updates for the "foreseeable future".
OnePlus also announced that it will be shifting its open beta program to the recently launched OnePlus 5 once Android O is released for the OnePlus 3 and 3T. This is good news for OnePlus 5 users who wish to experiment with the latest Android features before they are released to the public.
OnePlus's head of product, Oliver Z said - "Android O is going to be the last Android version update we'll release for the OP3/3T. We'll continue to release security patch updates for the foreseeable future, and offer support for individual application updates. After the OP3/3T have been updated to Android O, we'll start moving the Open Beta Program from OP3/3T to OP5."
