Google release final developer preview of Android O

Google releases the fourth and final developer preview of Android O, the latest version of it's mobile operating system. 



Being the final developer preview version, it is going to be a stable version that includes the final system behaviors, the latest bug fixes and optimizations, and the final developer APIs.


Users can get the Android O Developer Preview by enrolling the device in automatic OTA system updates through the Android Beta Program or by downloading a Developer Preview system image and flash the device.


The O Developer Preview runs from 21 March 2017 until the final Android O public release to AOSP and OEMs, planned for Q3 2017. Below is the journey of Android 8.0 (Android O).

General notes about the release:
  • This public beta release is Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) approved on supported devices. Apps that depend on CTS approved builds should work normally on these devices (Android Pay, for example).
  • supported devices for the Beta release is available to : Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel C, Pixel, and Pixel XL.
  • System images are available for handsets, Android TV, and Android Wear. For Android Wear, the emulator system image is the same as the image provided in Developer Preview 3
